Serving our Community & City

First Step Recovery Home

The First Step Home in Walnut Hills houses and serves women in recovery from addictions and their children. Currently, FPC prepares and serves meals to these women every month. For the past three years, we have performed a Christmas program including a puppet show and delivered gifts to each woman and child in the home.

Inter Parish Ministry

The mission of IPM is "to provide food, clothing, and other communal support to those in need and to empower clients with information, support, and services to improve their lives."  Faith supports the mission of IPM by holding food drives and by encouraging members to donate needed food and personal hygiene items on a regular basis.  FPC maintains a donation box in the foyer/coffee area.  For a list of IPM's current Critical Needs list, please click here.

Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen

The Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen serves people who lack the financial means, housing, and/or life skills to provide nutritious meals for themselves and their families. Each year, the kitchen serves about 69,000 meals to the poor and homeless in the Cincinnati area. The third Saturday of each month, folks from Faith visit the kitchen to serve a breakfast of pancakes and sausage.

A Caring Place is a local, non-profit organization that helps women and families with pregnancy-related concerns. Its primary mission is to provide life-giving alternatives to abortion through free services such as pregnancy tests, education, adoption information, baby and maternity supplies, and medical referrals. Partnership with Tugi, Cameroon

Starting in 2006, the people of Faith Presbyterian Church began supporting a school in Tugi, Cameroon. This small African village was in dire need of aid for local teachers and students. Since 2006, FPC has donated funds each school year to support the salaries of the teachers. Our annual support has helped exam results improve substantially, from 0% to 72% in 2007, and from 72% to 100% in 2008. We look forward to growing this partnership into an ongoing mission opportunity.

Financial Peace University

Financial Peace University is a class that trains people to manage financial resources. The 13-week class, based on Biblical principles, is taught by Dave Ramsey (via DVD) and followed by small group discussion. During the 13 weeks of the class, it is typical for attendees to change their financial practices to the extent that they reduce their debt by an average of $5,300 and they save as much as $2,700.

FPU was held in the Fall of 2008.  Please contact the church office if you are interested in attending should the class be offered in 2010.
